Solar Vs Wind Energy Cost
There are two main resources for energy in the nature -- the sun and the wind. Solar energy and wind energy are in equal competition in growth and usage. They both can produce renewable source of energy and actually have very slight differences. |

For using wind energy, one can install a wind mill at home or buy it from an external source. If they choose solar energy, then they have to install the equipment at home and invest in its infrastructure. The cost of solar energy systems is 40 percent higher than wind energy. However, a solar energy system can produce more heat than a wind energy system. Also, its output is equivalent to the electricity generated by fossil fuels.
Wind energy systems are more reliable and are run by huge setups. Solar energy is dependent on the sun, but when the climate is not favorable, the system cannot perform. The output of wind based energy systems is subject to the strength of the wind. The output of solar energy is dependent on the availability of the sun. However, wind and sun when compared, sun is more dependable. There will be some amount of sunlight in the day time no matter what the conditions are.
Solar power systems can be installed on the roof top and the location is not a big deal. Wind energy needs the right location and it is ideal in higher altitudes. Cityscapes are not suited for wind energy as there will be several obstructions. Solar energy is well suited for cityscapes and the higher the structures are the better.
